Spiced Basmati Rice

Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 Tbsp. oil or butter
- 1½ cups basmati rice, rinsed
- 2 tsp. The Spice Hunter Turkish Cumin Seeds

1 tsp. The Spice Hunter Ground Turmeric
- ¼ tsp. The Spice Hunter Chili Powder
- 2 cups vegetable stock
- 4 oz. peas, frozen
- 1 carrot, diced
Directions
Sauté onion and garlic in oil or butter for 5 minutes. Add basmati rice and sauté for 1 minute. Add Turmeric, cumin seeds and chili powder. Cook 1 minute. Add stock, peas and carrot. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
