Ingredients
- 1 lb. of chicken breasts or thighs, cut in 1 inch pieces
- ½ cup plain yogurt
-
½ tsp. The Spice Hunter Granulated Garlic
-
1 tsp. The Spice Hunter Ground Ginger
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 1 jalapeno or Serrano pepper, minced
-
1 tsp. The Spice Hunter Garam Masala Blend
-
½ tsp. The Spice Hunter Sweet Paprika
- Salt to taste
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
- ½ cup cream
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the chicken, yogurt, granulated garlic, and ground ginger. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour. After the chicken has marinated, heat 2 Tbsp. of the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat. Saute the chicken pieces until they are golden brown (they will finish cooking in the sauce). Remove from the pan and set aside. Add the remaining Tbsp. of butter to the pan. Add the minced pepper, garam masala, paprika, and salt, if desired. Stir until the spices are fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the tomato paste, tomato sauce, and chicken pieces. Simmer the sauce on medium low for about 10-15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through. Stir in the heavy cream. Serve with naan bread or over basmati rice.
