Traditional Fried Chicken

1. Place chicken in a baking dish or zip-top bag and pour buttermilk over chicken. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.

2. Next, mix the flour and seasoning in a large bowl. Drain the chicken.

3. Coat one piece of chicken at a time in flour mixture and set aside on a cookie sheet. Let sit for 20 minutes before frying.

4. While chicken is sitting, over medium-high setting, heat enough oil in a large, heavy pot to fully cover chicken. Oil should be around 330°F.

5. Once chicken is ready, carefully place each piece into hot oil. Fry until cooked through and golden brown, turning once.

6. Remove chicken from oil, drain on paper towels, sprinkle with more seasoning, if desired, and serve.
