Orange Blossom Biscuits
Ingredients
- 2 (5.5 oz.) packages buttermilk baking mix
- 1 (3 oz.) package cream cheese, at room temperature
- ⅔ cup milk
- ½ tsp. Sauer's Pure Orange Extract
- ½ tsp. Sauer's Butter Flavor
- ½ tsp. Sauer's Pure Vanilla Extract
- ¼ cup orange marmalade
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
2. Place baking mix in a medium bowl. Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut cream cheese into baking mix until mixture resembles coarse meal.
3. Add milk, extracts, and butter flavor; stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Dough will be very soft.
4. Knead dough 3 or 4 times on a floured surface. Pat or roll dough into a ½-inch thickness.
5. Cut dough with a 2-inch diameter biscuit cutter; place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet. Press thumb in the center of each biscuit, leaving a small impression; spoon marmalade into impression.
6. Cut 6 slits around dough edges, cutting through to edge of center.
7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
