Cinnamon Hard Candy

Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 3¾ cups white sugar
- 1½ cups corn syrup
- 2½ tsp. Sauer's Pure Cinnamon Extract
- 1 tsp. Sauer's Red Food Color
- Powdered sugar
- Try another of your favorite Sauer's Extracts, Flavors or colors in place of Cinnamon Extract and Red Food Color
Preparation
1. Sprinkle 2 feet of foil with powdered sugar, turn up the edges and set aside.
2. In a medium sized saucepan, combine water, white sugar and corn syrup. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
3. Once sugar is dissolved, stop stirring and continue cooking to 300-310°F (hard crack stage). Remove from heat and carefully stir in flavor and color.
4. Carefully pour candy onto the foil. Let candy cool, then break into pieces.
5. Store in an airtight container. You can also carefully make cross-hatches in candy, after 5-10 minutes of cooling and break into uniform pieces once cooled.
