Beer Can Chicken

Ingredients
- 1 whole (4 lb.) chicken
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 3 Tbsp. Sauer's Steak Grill Seasoning
- 1 can of beer

- Remove neck and giblets from chicken, discard or save for another use.
- Rinse chicken, pat dry with paper towels.
- Rub chicken with oil, then sprinkle steak seasoning all over chicken; rub seasoning into the chicken.
- Place chicken on a plate and refrigerate uncovered for 2 hours.
Grill:
- Make certain that the beer can chicken will fit in your BBQ before lighting grill.
- Open the can of beer, remove (or drink) half of the beer.
- Place the chicken on the beer can; set beer can chicken on grill.
- Grill (covered) over medium-high indirect heat for about 1 ½ hours, or until a thermometer inserted in the thigh area reads 180°F.
- Remove chicken from the grill, discard beer can. Place chicken in a baking dish; cover with foil and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Carve, pouring juices from the baking dish over sliced chicken.
Bake:
- Remove all racks from oven, except for the bottom one.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Open the can of beer, remove (or drink) half of the beer.
- Place the chicken on the beer can, and put it on a foil lined, rimmed baking sheet.
- Carefully put the baking sheet in the oven; bake for about 1 ½ hours, or until a thermometer inserted in the thigh area reads 180°F.
- Remove chicken from oven, discard beer can. Place chicken in a baking dish; cover with foil and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Carve, pouring juices from the baking dish over sliced chicken.
