Ingredients

  • 6 cups of popped popcorn
  • 8 slices of thick cut bacon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (to sprinkle on bacon)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (to drizzle on bacon)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp baking soda

      Instructions

      1. Prepare popcorn
      2. Preheat oven to 350°
      3. Line baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack
      4. Place bacon in a single layer
      5. Sprinkle with brown sugar and drizzle on maple syrup
      6. Bake bacon for 20 minutes or until fully cooked
      7. Allow to cool and for sugar to set and harden before ripping into bite size pieces
      8. In a medium saucepan, melt butter
      9. Add remaining brown sugar and maple syrup
      10. Allow mixture to boil for 5 minutes; add baking soda and stir (mixture will expand)
      11. Pour maple sugar mixture over popcorn and stir until evenly coated
      12. Stir in bacon pieces (saving a few pieces to top off the bowl) until completely incorporated
      13. Enjoy!
